We appreciate those from our community and the student families who give their time.

You are making a difference in our school and positively affecting the lives of our students.

All school volunteers must sign-in at the school office before coming on campus.

 

Yosemite Unified School District Requirements for Volunteers - Keeping our Students Safe.

The YUSD Board of Trustees encourages parents/guardians and other members of the community to share their time, knowledge and abilities with our students.

  1. Volunteers shall act in accordance with district policies and regulations, as well as individual site requirements.

  2. Each Volunteer is required to complete the District Volunteer Application Packet, and the completed packet must be on file in the school office prior to commencement of service. You can download your packet off the website or come in the office to pick one up! This form includes a requirement to disclose any prior criminal convictions. Failure to provide accurate information will result in immediate dismissal.

  3. A TB test is required. TB testing is at the expense of the volunteer. It must be dated within 60 days of the date of the packet, unless transferring from another school or school district. (EC 49406(a) (h) TB Skin Tests offered by Madera County Public Health.

  4. If a volunteer would like to be a chaperone on a field trip, they will also be required to have a Live Scan and be fingerprinted. Live Scans are at the expense of the volunteer. Livescans are by appointment only through YUSD.

  5. Each volunteer is expected to maintain confidentiality regarding each student and family.

  6. If volunteers hear about or observe evidence of child abuse, volunteers will report the information to the site principal or designee immediately.

  7. Volunteers understand that their service as a volunteer may be terminated at any time for any reason.
