Farm to School: A Recipe for Success!

From the farm to our cafeterias! 🥕🌽 We're thrilled to announce the incredible impact of the Improving School Meals Through Farm to Fork grant in our Child Nutrition Services. By partnering with amazing local farmers, ranchers, and producers, we're serving up healthier, more delicious meals made with fresh ingredients. This collaboration not only supports our local community but also ensures our students are fueled with the best food possible.

with project scales we are doing an effort to improve our meals working with local producers ranchers local Growers a beekeeper and trying to just Source the freshest ingredients and to make food that kids will enjoy and that nutritious our mission as a farm is to create access to locally grown Foods in the mountain communities a lot of the food that's grown up here is imported from the Central Valley or from elsewhere much further away and we feel like the Mountain community and what we have going on here we can provide for our own we don't have to have that dependency on going somewhere to give food or waiting for a truck to deliver it to us a big part of what we do has to do with building resiliency in the local communities we want to help build resiliency by helping show that it's possible to build a vibrant business that can provide for your own family in such a way that also benefits the local community we've always felt like it was our mission to feed people and if we have an opportunity to feed those that need it the most namely hungry kids in Rural America and in to the world where our food scarcity is a real thing that gives us an opportunity to work with Schools lunch ladies are my heroes and if we can help them on that mission then that's all we want I think the opportunity to be a recipient of the scales Grant is going to be forever changing with the food that we feed our children because as I learn how we can use food and kind of change the shift from Ultra processed individually wrapped Mass quantity food items we can make small improvements and this grant has given us the opportunity to do something that we never would have been able to do and to meet the partners who are in our backyard who can work with us to feed our children healthy food
